The first "proper" snow

has fallen and the landscape is shimmering in a blanket of white silk. Hopefully it will stay like this until Christmas...but experience tells me that it won't, it's still fairly warm (around 0c, 32F). It's such a shame since the snow lights up the dark days we have this time of year, our days are still getting shorter. We are now down to about 5 hours of daylight (from sunrise to sunset) around Christmas Eve we'll have our shortest day, about 3 hours of daylight before darkness once again decends upon us. (boy, am i glad i live south of the artic circle, 24 hours of darkness for 2 months would have driven me crazy

)
I'm moving the rest of my furniture tomorrow and then my flat will be empty for about a week before the new owners take over next weekend. So i figured i'll be using it as a studio for the week
BE HAPPY FOLKS, A SMILE BRIGHTENS UP THE DAY!!!

You must be further north than we are! Our shortest winter days are about 4 hours! Right now we are at about 5 hours of daylight.
Where did you move to?

my memory might serve me wrong...we might have closer to 4 hours of sun around christmas, that would make sense as Anchorage and Oslo are practially on the same altitude (altitude/latitude i mess those up..altitude is north and south isn't it?)
I haven't actually found a new place yet... i'll be staying at my dad's for the time being until i find a place to rent, but it will be in the Oslo region.

I have a friend here, whose former sister-in-law lives in Oslo, so we hear stories fairly often. It sounds like a great place to live.
Good luck finding a perfect new place to live!
